Aging is a terrible curse, but an inevitable one for most of us. It's been said that the pain of departure from loved ones, from all we know and are familiar with, is the devil's victory... but it's his final one. No more! For those who have listened to the gospel and responded to it in faith in this life, the next one is a welcome sight. "Blessed in the sight of God is the death of his loved ones."

 

But this hopeful message isn't without pain.

 

Watching our loved ones leave, sometimes with wrenching pain and enduring sorrow, is difficult regardless of the strength of our faith in their destiny. This ballad acknowledges that difficult experience for both the one leaving and those who can only remember their love, their wisdom, their struggles and their hopes.

 

We pray their (and our) end is swift and kind.
